K82: Other diseases of gallbladder
K82.1: Hydrops of gallbladder
The gallbladder is in the top right part of the abdomen below the liver. The liver produces bile. The bile flows through bile ducts to the gallbladder and is stored there. When needed, the bile flows through another bile duct to the intestine. There, the bile helps to digest fats.
The outlet of your gallbladder is constricted. Due to the constriction, bile fluid may not flow properly out of your gallbladder. The bile fluid is then accumulating in the gallbladder. As a result, the gallbladder has become enlarged. You may thus have rising and falling pain in your upper right abdomen. You may also feel nauseated. But you may also have no symptoms.
