K75: Other inflammatory liver diseases
K75.1: Phlebitis of portal vein
The liver is an important organ on the top right of the abdomen. For example, it helps with blood clotting and detoxifying the body. Nutrients from food are processed in the liver. A large vein collects the nutrient-rich blood from the gastrointestinal area and carries the blood to the liver. This large vein has become inflamed for you.
If other organs in the abdomen are inflamed, the large vein in front of the liver may also become inflamed. Many diseases in the liver make an inflammation of the large vein more likely. The inflammation is caused by pathogens, for example. As a result, you may have abdominal pain and a high temperature.
