K62: Other diseases of anus and rectum
K62.6: Ulcer of anus and rectum
The last segment of the large intestine consists of 2 sections. These 2 sections are the rectum and anal canal. The feces are collected in the rectum. The feces then move through the short anal canal to the anus. Feces are excreted through the anus.
The intestines and anus are lined with a thin membrane on the inside. This thin membrane can become inflamed and thus damaged. Severe damage to the thin membrane can cause a deep wound to form.
This kind of damage can mean you have blood in your stool or coming from the anus. You may also have pain in your abdomen or anus.
