K29.8: Duodenitis
The first part of the small intestine is also called the duodenum. This part is directly connected to the stomach and the lower part of the small intestine. The small intestine is lined with mucous membrane.
The mucous membrane of your small intestine is inflamed. There are various causes that can encourage inflammation of the small intestine’s mucous membrane. They include alcohol, bacteria, specific drugs and stress. Due to the inflammation, the mucous membrane of the small intestine may be damaged.
With an inflammation of the small intestine, you may have nausea or pain. You may also have to vomit. It is also common to have no symptoms at all.
