K00: Disorders of tooth development and eruption
K00.7: Teething syndrome
Normally, each tooth breaks through the gum within a certain time period. This applies both to milk teeth and adult teeth.
We refer to tooth eruption problems when there are more difficulties than usual. For example, the affected area may swell up or turn red. The person may also experience soreness or over-production of saliva. If inflammation occurs, pus can form. Inflammation can be accompanied by a fever.
