J33.0: Polyp of nasal cavity
We need the nose for breathing and smelling. The inside of the nose is coated with a smooth, moist membrane. This membrane is also called the mucous membrane. Various things can cause the cells in the mucous membrane to multiply. A bulge then develops in the mucous membrane.
The mucous membrane in your nose has bulged out. Because of this bulge, it can be difficult to breathe through the nose. Furthermore, the discharge from the nose can be impeded. If fluid accumulates in the nose, the mucous membrane in the nose may become inflamed.
