I86: Varicose veins of other sites
I86.1: Scrotal varices
The scrotal veins carry the blood from the testicles to the heart. The testicles produce male sex hormones. An example of a male sex hormone is testosterone. The testicles are located outside the body, and are covered by skin. That is the scrotum. The veins run from the scrotum through the groin, before they end at the renal veins in the abdomen.
The veins in your scrotum have widened. These are also known as varicose veins.
The varicose veins can cause blood to accumulate in the testicles. The sperm can become damaged as a result. But it is also possible that no problems at all occur.
