I67: Other cerebrovascular diseases

I67.0: Dissection of cerebral arteries, nonruptured

Various arteries carry the blood from the heart to the brain. The arteries have a vascular wall. This vascular wall consists of 3 layers. In your case, there has been a tear in the inner layer. As a result, blood has got in between the layers of the vascular wall. Sometimes not enough blood can then flow through the blood vessel. Because not enough blood can get to the brain, the brain can get damaged.

You can then have various problems. One may be in pain, for example. When the brain is damaged, one is sometimes no longer able to speak properly, for example.
