I30-I52: Other forms of heart disease
I38: Endocarditis, valve unspecified
There are 4 valves in the heart. These valves ensure that the blood flows in the right direction. So they have to close tightly. They also have to open up fully so that the blood can be properly pumped out of the heart.
One of your heart’s valves is probably inflamed. An inflammation can be caused by pathogens or occur as part of another disorder. An inflammation may also have affected other layers of your heart.
The valve may also not be working properly. If the valve is not working properly, it may be leaky or have narrowed.
