I27: Other pulmonary heart diseases

I27.8: Other specified pulmonary heart diseases

You need lungs to breath. When we breathe in, oxygen enters the lungs and accumulates in the blood. This blood then flows to the heart. The heart then pumps the oxygen-rich blood throughout the body. All of the organs are supplied with oxygen as a result. The heart and lungs are closely linked to each other. If there is a disorder in the lungs, the heart may also be damaged. If the heart is not working properly, the lungs can get damaged, too.
