I27: Other pulmonary heart diseases
I27.1: Kyphoscoliotic heart disease
When the spine is looked at from the side, it bends backwards and forwards. This is normal. When the spine is looked at from behind, it ought to be straight. In your case, your spine is twisted. Your spine bends forward more than usual, too. As a result, the lungs and the heart can be constricted in the chest area.
The lungs can then no longer expand properly, and the respiratory muscles cannot work properly. This can cause shortage of breath. The heart and lungs are closely linked to each other. If the lungs are damaged, the heart may also be damaged.
Your lungs and heart are unable to work properly because your spine is misaligned.
