H93: Other disorders of ear, not elsewhere classified
H93.1: Tinnitus
The ear is a sensory organ that is used to hear and to maintain one's balance. There are 3 different areas in the ear: the outer ear, middle ear and inner ear.
Tinnitus is heard separately from external sounds. A buzzing, hissing or beeping is heard, for example. The sound may only be heard sometimes or it may be there constantly.
The precise reason for the tinnitus is often not known. The tinnitus may affect one’s everyday life.
