H61: Other disorders of external ear

H61.3: Acquired stenosis of external ear canal

The ear consists of 3 sections: the outer ear, the middle ear, and the inner ear. The auricle and the auditory canal are part of the outer ear. The auricle and auditory canal route sound from outside towards the middle ear.

Your auditory canal is narrower than usual. The reason for this change may be an injury or another ear disorder, for example. When the auditory canal is very narrow, one’s hearing may be worse than usual.
