H53: Visual disturbances

H53.5: Colour vision deficiencies

To be able to see, light needs to fall into our eye. The light falls through the eye to a layer inside the eye. From there, the optic nerve routes the information on to the brain. The brain converts these impressions to images. Specific areas are responsible for our color vision. There are three types of sensory cells for three colors. We see red with one type of sensory cell, green with another, and blue with the other. You cannot see colors as other people do.
