H31: Other disorders of choroid
H31.4: Choroidal detachment
The choroid is the middle layer in the eye sheath. It lies between the sclera and the retina. There are lots of blood vessels in this layer. The choroid supplies the retina below it with oxygen and nutrients.
One or more areas in your choroid have become detached. The choroid can get detached if fluid gets below the choroid. This can occur with inflammations of the choroid, for example. The choroid may also get detached after surgery or injuries. If areas of the choroid become detached, vision in the relevant eye may be restricted or lost.
