G93.0: Cerebral cysts

The brain is made up of several areas. For example, the cerebrum is used to think and plan actions. In the cerebellum, movements are initialized and coordinated. The brain stem is responsible for various unconscious tasks such as breathing. The brain stem passes into the spinal cord.

There are various reasons why a fluid-filled cavity might form in your brain. The brain does not have a lot of room inside the head. So a large cavity can compress surrounding brain tissue. If this damages the brain tissue, one may have difficulties moving certain muscles, for example. One may also no longer be able to see or speak properly. You can also have seizures.
