G80: Cerebral palsy

G80.4: Ataxic cerebral palsy

Since your early childhood you have had a mobility disorder. This type of mobility disorder means that you may not be able to control your movements properly. For example, you may have problems with walking, sitting or gripping things. You may also have problems when speaking.

These types of mobility problems are caused by brain damage. This can occur during pregnancy, during the birth, or in the days after the birth. The brain can get damaged by toxic substances or a lack of oxygen, for example. But there are other possible causes. In a case of brain damage, certain mental capabilities may sometimes not develop properly.
