Multiple nerves run down your arm. These nerves help shoulders, arms and hands to move. The nerves are also responsible for sensation in this area.
Nerves can be damaged by injuries or by pressure on the nerves. The damage may be lasting or temporary. When a nerve has been damaged, it can cause pain, tingling or a numbness in the affected area. It may also no longer be possible to move the shoulder, arm or hand as well as you usually can.
