G37.1: Central demyelination of corpus callosum
The brain is made up of several parts. The cerebrum is the largest part of the brain. This is where thinking, feeling and planning of movements takes place. The cerebrum consists of two halves. The two halves of the brain are connected to one another.
Your disorder particularly damages the connection between the two halves of the brain. The exact cause of the disorder is not yet known. In most cases, the disorder is probably the result of alcohol dependency. A lack of nutrients is also probably responsible for the disorder occurring. Nutrients need to be taken in via one’s diet.
The disorder can be accompanied by many different symptoms. The symptoms can vary in their severity. For example, one’s thinking and behavior may change. You may also have problems with your speech. Your memory or concentration can deteriorate. You may no longer be able to move your arms and legs properly. You may also lose consciousness.
