G06: Intracranial and intraspinal abscess and granuloma
G06.1: Intraspinal abscess and granuloma
The vertebral channel is made up of the individual vertebrae in the spinal column. The spinal canal contains the spinal cord, for example. Nerves run from the brain to the organs, skin and muscles, and back again, via the spinal cord.
There has been a change in the tissue in your vertebral channel. Such changes are caused by an inflammation and may involve pus-filled cavities or papules made of inflammation cells.
Changes like these in the vertebral channel can cause back pain, for example. Such changes can also press on the spinal cord or nerves leading from the spinal cord. Various nerve functions may then become impaired. For example, you may be unable to move your arms or legs properly, or no longer feel contacts properly.
