F52: Sexual dysfunction, not caused by organic disorder or disease

F52.5: Nonorganic vaginismus

The vagina is tubular and leads from the outside to the uterus. There are muscles around the vagina. These muscles can narrow the entrance of the vagina when they contract.

In your case, these muscles are contracting vigorously without you consciously controlling them. This kind of thing can happen when touched or when something enters the vagina. This could be a finger, tampon or your partner’s penis, for example.

There is no physical reason for your muscles clenching up.
