F43: Reaction to severe stress, and adjustment disorders
F43.0: Acute stress reaction
A particularly stressful event might make a person react with a variety of symptoms within a few minutes. One might start by feeling numb. Then a person’s mood can alter. For example, they can feel angry, sad or confused, and seem faraway to onlookers. Physical symptoms such as sweating or a rapid heartbeat may also occur.
