A panic attack involves sudden intense symptoms of anxiety. This can result in severe physical symptoms such as a rapid heartbeat, dizziness, shaking or shortness of breath. During a panic attack, your environment may also feel strange or unreal or you may also have a fear of death. These attacks are often unpredictable and have no specific trigger.
