F17: Mental and behavioural disorders due to use of tobacco
F17.4: Mental and behavioural disorders due to use of tobacco withdrawal state with delirium
Tobacco is a plant. Nicotine is an active ingredient found in tobacco. For example, tobacco can be smoked or snuffed.
Before a tobacco withdrawal the person has usually consumed too much tobacco over a long period of time. When someone goes through withdrawal, they have various physical symptoms, because they are consuming less or no tobacco. They may feel anxious or restless, for example. They may also have problems sleeping and not be able to concentrate very well.
The withdrawal also alters your state of consciousness. For example, your awareness and memory may alter. One may also no longer know who or where one is.
