F11: Mental and behavioural disorders due to use of opioids
F11.2: Mental and behavioural disorders due to use of opioids : dependence syndrome
Opioids is a group of substances that can relieve pain and, in certain quantities, act as a stimulant. Examples of opioids are the painkillers morphine and tilidine. But the drug heroin is also an opioid. You can become addicted to these substances.
You are addicted to opioids. When you are addicted to opioids, you have a constant strong desire to consume opioids. You may then find it difficult to control your consumption and need more and more opioids. Not consuming opioids may then lead to you having physical or mental problems. The addiction may cause you to neglect other things in your day-to-day life.
