E27: Other disorders of adrenal gland
E27.5: Adrenomedullary hyperfunction
The adrenal glands are at the top of the kidneys. The adrenal gland produces various messenger substances, including the hormone adrenalin. Adrenalin has a wide variety of effects. For example, adrenalin causes the heart to beat faster and increases the blood pressure.
Your adrenal glands are producing more adrenalin than normal. As a result, you may have various symptoms, for example your blood pressure may be raised. It is also possible that you have no symptoms at all.
