D69: Purpura and other haemorrhagic conditions
D69.0: Allergic purpura
You are bleeding from tiny blood vessels in the body. That can have various causes. For example, your immune system is having a very strong reaction to a pathogen or a drug. However, the immune system can also be targeted against your own body for no reason.
The immune systems attacks the small blood vessels in your skin. This results in the blood vessels becoming inflamed. That’s why the tiny blood vessels in your body bleed. This can be seen on the skin or mucous membrane. We can see you have small red dots. There may also be small bleeds in other organs, for example, in the gastrointestinal tract.
