D68: Other coagulation defects
D68.1: Hereditary factor XI deficiency
For blood to be able to clot, many proteins have to work together in the blood. You have too little of one of these proteins in your blood. As a result, your blood is clotting too slowly. This coagulation disorder is congenital and inherited. The coagulation disorder can make you bleed more easily or bruise more often.
