B67: Echinococcosis

B67.9: Echinococcosis, other and unspecified

If a human ingests the tapeworm eggs, larvae will grow from those eggs. The larvae can move around the body. They then develop in cysts filled with fluid. These cysts are known as bladder worms.

If you are infected, the symptoms often only appear after several years. You can then lose weight and feel weak. The symptoms depend on where the larvae are in the body.
