B41.0: Pulmonary paracoccidioidomycosis
The illness is caused by fungi. The fungi occur in the soil in Central and South America. Fungi produce resistant spores in order to propagate. Drafts can spread the spores around the environment. The fungal spores can be stirred up and breathed in with dust.
Your lungs are infected. You may then have a cough, chest pains or breathing difficulties. The illness may also persist over a long period of time. It can damage tissue in the lungs.
The fungi can cause painful lesions in the mouth and nose area. The lymph nodes can become enlarged and secrete pus. Lymph node tissue can die off.
