There are various kinds of viruses. You have been infected with enteroviruses.
Enteroviruses can cause many different illnesses. These include, for example, the common cold, summer flu, or inflammations of the eyes or skin. It may be that the virus does not cause many problems, but you may also become seriously ill. Enteroviruses are transmitted person-to-person, for example by coughing, sneezing or shaking hands. The viruses can also be transmitted via objects that a sick person has handled.
