B08: Other viral infections characterized by skin and mucous membrane lesions, not elsewhere classified

B08.2: Exanthema subitum [sixth disease]

Quartan fever is caused by viruses. If you have contact with infected individuals, you can become infected with quartan fever through tiny drops of saliva, for example.

With quartan fever, red spots or pustules can occur on your trunk and arms. You can have a very high fever. Febrile convulsions can also occur. A febrile convulsion is when the muscles in the body seize up unintentionally and the person is unresponsive for a short time.
