A98.2: Kyasanur Forest disease

The Kyasanur Forest disease virus occurs in India. You can get infected by being bitten by a tick. You can catch it by coming into contact with infected or dead simians.

This virus can cause a feverish illness. First of all you can have headaches, sore limbs and a sore throat. You may also suffer from vomiting and diarrhea. You may also have bleeds in internal organs. The Kyasanur Forest disease virus can cause inflammation of the brain. You can then become confused or lose consciousness. You can also suffer seizures. You may also be unable to move certain parts of your body properly. You may think and behave abnormally. You may be seriously ill.
