A54.4: Gonococcal infection of musculoskeletal system
Gonococci are specific bacteria. An infection with gonococci is also sometimes called gonorrhea. Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease. There are diseases that are particularly transmitted during sex. These diseases are also called sexually transmitted diseases. They are usually caused by specific pathogens. The pathogens can for instance be transmitted via vaginal fluid or semen. The pathogens may also be transmitted from a sick mother to her new-born child when she gives birth.
The musculoskeletal system includes the muscles, bones and joints, among other things. The individual bones are connected to each other via joints. The muscles are attached to the bones via tendons. The individual tendons are surrounded by tendon sheaths comprising connective tissue. When parts of the musculoskeletal system are inflamed, you may no longer be able to move properly or you might have pain in certain places.
