A05: Other bacterial foodborne intoxications, not elsewhere classified

A05.1: Botulism

Bacteria can live in food and breed there. Bacteria particularly breed when food isn’t kept cool enough or when it is stored for too long. Some bacteria can also form toxins. Bacteria like these have been in food that you have eaten. As a result, you have food poisoning. These bacteria are called Clostridium botulinum.

People with food poisoning are often nauseated and have to vomit. Abdominal pain and diarrhea are also possible. The muscles are also paralyzed by a certain toxin. You may have problems with vision, speaking and swallowing. It is also possible that you will no longer be able to breathe on your own. It is also possible to have other symptoms.
