Lecture Module

Provides practical first-aid techniques and emergency medical management for first responders, workplace safety personnel, and anyone responsible for immediate care. Topic: recognition and initial treatment of acute medical emergencies, including unconsciousness, collapse, cardiac arrest, allergic reactions, and hypertensive/hypotensive crises. Intended audience: non‑physician responders and staff who must assess and stabilise patients until advanced care arrives. Outcomes: 1) assess the general condition of a casualty and manage an unconscious person with or without breathing; 2) perform effective CPR and operate an AED according to standard technique; 3) assemble and use a workplace emergency kit and administer common emergency medications for myocardial infarction, anaphylaxis, blood pressure emergencies and malignant hyperthermia.

Practical training in casualty assessment and core resuscitation and airway-management techniques.

Intended audience: healthcare providers, nurses, paramedics, and emergency responders.

  • Perform a primary survey, assess breathing and circulation, and apply effective ventilation techniques.
  • Deliver high-quality chest compressions and operate an AED for safe defibrillation.
  • Secure and manage the airway using laryngeal masks and basic airway maneuvers, and use pulse oximetry and supplemental oxygen appropriately.
