Basic course information

The training is structured over two consecutive days - the first day is focused on the basics and standardized protocols in clinical dental photography, and the second day is dedicated to advanced techniques: studio, portrait, object and art dental photography. Participants work with real equipment, accessories and lighting, receiving individual guidance and feedback.

The course format includes theory, demonstrations, and hands-on practice.


What participants will learn

During the course participants will learn:

  • The basic technical principles of dental photography and working in Manual mode;
  • Correct selection and use of cameras, lenses, flashes and accessories;
  • Creation of standardized extraoral and intraoral clinical photographs;
  • Control of light, reflections, angle and composition in clinical and specialized shots;
  • Working in a studio environment and building different lighting setups;
  • Portrait photography – styles, posing, lighting and expression;
  • Object and art dental photography with a focus on detail, texture and form;
  • Image analysis and real-time adjustments under the guidance of the lecturer.

  • Key parameters: ISO; Aperture; Shutter speed; White balance;
  • Working in Manual mode;
  • Most common technical errors.

Accessories and work in the oral cavity:

  • Dental mirrors – types and application;
  • Retractors – selection and correct positioning;
  • Anti-fog techniques;
  • Light modifiers;
  • Patient preparation;
  • Operator position and ergonomics.

Standardized photographic protocols:

  • Distant extraoral shots: portrait; smile; profile;
  • Close extraoral shots:
